Free 1:1 Support from The Highrise Project

The Highrise Project is a socially engaged collaboration to explore the impact of creativity in developing local spaces with communities. We use ethnographic and artistic approaches to co-produce work with residents and other participants, as well as supporting people to develop their skills and interests.

We are now offering free 1:1 support for visual artists and photographers in Leeds. The sessions will take place at Armley Community Hub and Library in Leeds on Tuesdays between 10.30am - 3.30pm in June, July and August.

Celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with Leeds Libraries

There's lots going on across Leeds Libraries and Community Hubs to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee, with events taking place in the run up and over the Jubilee weekend.

We're creating an archive of your memories and photos of the Queen here in Leeds. You can share anything - from anecdotes about past Royal visits, street parties, or preparations for this year's Platinum Jubilee. Head over to Leodis to view the gallery and get involved!

Mikkel Ullah - Dynamite

The Dynamite Project is a collective established in 2014 by local urban artist Mikkel Ullah.

Seeing Africa! A New Film Strand

Hyde Park Picture House are presenting the first wave of a new African film strand, supported by Leeds African Communities Trust.

African cinema has historically been excluded and underrepresented locally, nationally and internationally. This film strand aims to raise awareness of African life and culture through excellent films for the African and non-African audiences in Leeds.

Here's a review of Cook Off (2017, Zimbabwe) the first film in the series, which is being screened at Headingley HEART on 4th March at 7.30pm. The review is by Leeds writer Lucy Ndlovu.
