We’re looking for a creative with lived experience of forced displacement to join our team as a Trainee Producer for a 12-week paid placement from January to April 2027.

The role will primarily support the planning and delivery of our Refugee Week 2027 programme, while also offering hands-on experience across other community arts projects and the day-to-day work of a small arts organisation.

You’ll gain practical experience in production, project coordination and arts administration, working alongside the our team, artists, community partners and participants.

On Saturday 24 October, from 7.30pm-9pm, The Deep End brings an evening of spoken word to the historic pool hall at Bramley Baths. 

The fifth annual Farsley Lit Fest will take place between the 12th October and 23rd November, brought to you by Truman Books and The Old Woollen. Once again, the team from the village bookshop and events venue are bringing a wide range of fantastic authors in a series of over 25 talks, discussions and events to Farsley, across six weeks this autumn.

Out Of Many People co-founder Susan Pitter is among a glittering list of big names and inspiring community figures being honoured this October as part of Black History Month UK 2026.

Susan is one of 54 people – including Windrush campaigner Professor Sir Patrick Vernon OBE, Rev Rose Hudson Wilkin CD MBE, the first Black female Church of England bishop, and the late MOBO Awards founder Kanya King CBE – being honoured in a national campaign to mark Black History Month.

What do hair, heritage and swimming have in common? More than you might think. When I began developing Wash Day: Our Hair, Water & History at Bramley Baths, I knew I wanted to create something that went beyond a hair workshop or a trip to the pool. I wanted to explore the stories that sit between the two.

A few weeks ago, I found myself standing in a newly leased room at Woodhouse Community Centre. The furniture has only just started to arrive, there is nothing on the walls, and there's a long list of jobs left to do before we really call it home.

Looking around, I started thinking about all the people who would pass through that room in the years ahead. People making new friends. People trying something for the first time. People looking for support. People looking for community.

Most of all, people looking for somewhere they belong.

Space2 would like to invite artists to share their unique perspective and passion for the local environment through artistic celebration of waterways, green spaces and human connections. We would like to increase general understanding of the local natural habitat by connecting waterways to migration and environmental exploitation, and by reflecting Leeds’ diverse communities' local stories/cultures as central to conversations about nature, climate, and collective action.Do you live in Leeds and make art?
