Wildflower Meadow Creation at Aysgarth Community Green Space

Join our friends from St Vincents at Aysgarth Community Green Space (Aygarth Walk Park) behind St Vincents to create a beautiful wildflower meadow

Help them sow native flowers to support our pollinators like bees and butterflies.

No experience needed, just a willingness to get your hands a bit dirty.

This is a great opportunity to connect with your community, learn about wildflowers and make a lasting impact. Come join them and be part of something special.

Tea, coffee and biscuits provided.

Fragments: A Special Exhibition From The Sculpture Gallery

Fragments is a special exhibition of dance, sculpture and photography, running throughout March.

This exhibition is a unique multidisciplinary collaboration between Gallery artist Mandy Long, photographer Stephen Cole and dancers Pablo Reyero and Tony Polo.

Stephen worked with Pablo and Tony, photographing and filming them as they explored intimate movement, inspiring Mandy to capture their performance and physicality in her poetic raku figures.

Tish

Driven by a commitment to document the impact of deindustrialisation on working class communities in Northeast England in the 1970s and 1980s, Tish Murtha used her camera to expose societal inequality. She felt she had an obligation to the people and problems within her local environment, and that documentary photography could highlight and challenge the social disadvantages that she herself had suffered.

However, despite early acclaim for her work, she was unable to make a living from photography and died in poverty.

Watership Down

When an apocalyptic vision pushes a group of rabbits to abandon their warren, Hazel, Fiver and Bigwig must tackle the brutal realities of the rural world - and mankind’s devastating impact on it - as they lead their colony to the utopian Watership Down.

The Sculpture Gallery Previews Special Exhibition and Performance

Come and join us on Thursday, 6th March for a fabulous evening of dance, sculpture and photography – “Fragments” - and chat to all the artists over a glass of wine.

This preview is to launch a unique multidisciplinary collaboration between Gallery artist Mandy Long, photographer Stephen Cole and dancers, Pablo Reyero and Tony Polo. Stephen worked with Pablo and Tony, photographing and filming their emotional dance performance, whilst Mandy has captured the choreography in her delicate raku forms.
