On Saturday 24 October, from 7.30pm-9pm, The Deep End brings an evening of spoken word to the historic pool hall at Bramley Baths.

Hosted by Kirsty Taylor and featuring Lence and Simone Yasmin, the event invites audiences to experience this much loved community space in a different way, with words, stories and poetry inspired by water, identity, community and the histories held within its walls.

Bramley Baths has always been more than a place to swim. It is somewhere people meet, connect and make memories. The Deep End builds on that social history, bringing live performance into the pool hall and creating space for different voices and perspectives.

Audiences can enjoy the evening from the balcony or sit poolside with their feet paddling in the water!

Alongside the featured artists, there will be an opportunity to share your own words.

Open mic sign ups will be available on the night, with three-minute slots allocated on a first come, first served basis. Whether you’re an experienced performer or stepping up for the first time, bring a poem, a story or something you’ve been waiting to say.

The Deep End is part of Bramley Baths’ #Morethanapool programme, made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The programme is exploring the Baths’ heritage through events that bring people together and welcome new audiences.
