Yoga, and it’s totally free!

Asher graduated from a 200hr Hatha yoga teacher training at The Collins and Barth School of Yoga. During the course realising how commodified yoga has become. Concerned that this is a barrier for many people accessing yoga. Determined to make yoga accessible for as many people as possible, Asher now teaches yoga across parks for free, and now at Open Source Arts too!

Asher's dream is to open a community studio where the yoga continues to be totally free and accessible!

A community initiative that brings together individuals and organisations from creative, digital, TV and film. We host a FREE breakfast networking and speaker sessions on the first Tuesday of every month (it is The New Monday after all…). 

Over coffee and croissants, you’ll get insider tips and practical information on emerging production sectors, gain creative inspiration, and open doors to collaboration opportunities.

Running on Tuesday evenings from 10th September – 15th October 2024, this 6 week, fully tutored course offers an exploration into the various techniques and methods used to depict the human figure.

Working with a life model, each of the 6 sessions will focus on a different subject, for example: quick gestural drawings, Chiaroscurro (the study of light and dark tonal values), measured drawing or negative space.

You will:

A week of Skinner Releasing Technique (SRT) and Dance Improvisation             

A little gang of unknown English teenagers started a scene in their obscure Midlands home-town of Solihull in 1972. This project evolved until it came to be known as Swell Maps, centred around four core members: Nikki Sudden (guitar, vocals), Epic Soundtracks (drums, keyboards), Richard Earl (guitars, vocals), Jowe Head (bass, guitars, vocals).

One of the biggest UK record fairs, held monthly on the second Saturday 10am - 4pm, with 85 tables of vinyl records in two halls at Leeds Kirkgate indoor market.

Top sellers with a great selection of rare and collectable LPs and 45s and lots of bargains. 40+ tables in each hall, with less than a minute's walk between them.

Records include rock n roll, soul, punk, psychedelic, new wave, prog, heavy metal, jazz, funk, blues, indie, hip hop, house, techno, reggae, folk, latin, afrobeat and more. Also some CDs.

We are a group of performers and circus enthusiasts who meet regularly to practice & share our skills in like-minded company. We run weekly skill-shares on Tuesdays 6pm-9pm at Open Source Arts, Leeds, focusing on learning new skills together in supportive company.
