Join us at Hyde Park Picture House for an LGBT+ History event to kick off our TWENTIETH anniversary year!
We're screening two great queer history films:
2:30pm: BECAUSE OF YOU: A History of Kilawin Kolektibo (34m)
This hybrid experimental documentary traces the history of Kilawin Kolektibo, a pioneering collective of Filipnxs who came together in NYC in the mid-nineties.
3:00pm: STRIKING WITH PRIDE: United at the Coalface (1hr15m)
Welsh Drag icon Tayce shares the story of Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners to a group of kids during a drag story hour. Whether you know the story of LGSM or not, you won't want to miss this new telling of it!
PLUS! Before the films, and to celebrate our 20th anniversary this year, we're doing a little oral history project. If you've got a memory from LQFF to share, whether it's from last year or way back to 2005, we want to hear it! Please come early (from 1pm) and find us in the community room so we can record your story.
This event will be totally FREE, and you'll be the first to get more info about what we've got lined up for our main festival (which runs from 19-23 March). Come say hi!
