Do you enjoy worldbuilding, creative writing, local history, or trying something new?
Compass Live Art, an independent arts charity and biennial arts festival, are inviting local people to build a brand-new tabletop role-playing game, developed by Leeds-based artists, Matt Allen & Jack Sibley.
In this free 3-hour workshop, artist, writer and storyteller Matthew Bellwood will introduce participants to world-building through imagined, historical and autobiographical versions of the city.
Focusing on game development, oral history and lore building, participants will be invited to share stories, create places, imagine characters, develop rumours and contribute ideas that may become part of the final game world.
Participants are invited to sign up to a follow-up workshop (head to the Compass website for more info), where you will be introduced to the rules and characters of the game you have helped to create!
No previous experience of tabletop role-playing games is needed.
There are 5 spots available in this workshop.
Workshops will last 3 hours with scheduled breaks and participants are welcome to take additional breaks as required.
If you can't make this workshop at Flamingos Coffee House, don’t worry, there are LSRPG Worldbuilding & Game Testing workshops taking place at Sunny Bank Mills and Grand Strategium. Links to all LSRPG workshops can be found on the Compass website.
