This workshop is part of Flora 2025, a pop-up art exhibition in Leeds.
In this hand embroidery workshop you will learn how to transfer a design onto fabric ready to stitch a botanical design. Hayley will guide you through the basics of hand embroidery and teach a range of hand embroidery stitches including satin stitch, chain stitch and French knots.
All materials and equipment will be provided and the workshop is suitable for beginners and people with some embroidery experience.
Free Exhibition Entry also included.
Artist Bio
Hayley is a Yorkshire based textile artist specialising in embroidery. Working in her home studio by the sea in Scarborough. Using fabric and thread, she creates textile drawings and objects that tell stories. Alongside her studio practice, Hayley offers a range of textile workshops, sharing her extensive knowledge and skills in embroidery.
Hayley has a degree in textile crafts from The University of Huddersfield and an MA in textiles from Manchester School of Art and has been embroidering for over 40 years.
