A walking tour of the city centre, taking in the historic sites of Victorian circus venues.
During the nineteenth century, Leeds was a major location in the north of England for visiting circus companies. Circus historian Dr Steve Ward has discovered at least 12 sites within the city centre square mile where circuses were regularly performed during this period. He now leads a circular guided walk around the city centre visiting these sites. As well as being informative and entertaining the walk celebrates the role that the circus has played within the cultural heritage of the city.
