SOUNDBITES – Monthly Poetry Open Mic

Live in the Assembly Bar + Kitchen!

Readings by a different local published poet each month.

This month we’re delighted to welcome TONNIE RICHMOND

Tonnie only started writing poetry after retiring and moving to Leeds in 2013. Her first collection, Rear-view Mirror was the first to be launched by Yaffle’s here at Heart in November 2023. She is currently working on a full collection which she hopes will come out in 2025.

Tonnie has had poems in various anthologies, Black Nore, Fragmented Voices, Dreamcatcher, Dawntreader, Lit Shark, The Storms and International Times. She won both First and Second Prize in a Queens English Society competition in May 2023.

She has spent her summers over the past decade and a half assisting on the archaeological dig at The Ness of Brodgar on Orkney andmany of her poems express her love of those magical islands.
