An Evening with Ọkan is a vibrant night of live music, dance, and conversation from performers and creators Akeim Toussaint Buck and Ella Mesma, collaboratively known as Maya & Toussaint, inspired by their new work, Ọkan. Rooted in the Yoruba word meaning Oneness, Conscience, and Heart, Ọkan embodies a limitless, open-minded approach to life.
An Evening with Ọkan includes a fun and accessible salsa-inspired dance class suitable for beginners, exploring the expressive movements used in the show. Expect to mingle, move, and connect in an event designed to celebrate artistic expression and community.
Experience digital exhibitions, short performance extracts, and Q&A sessions that open up dialogue about the inspiration behind the work.
Come along to dance, watch or chat and celebrate your creativity!
