The first Scour Cinema screening of 2025 is this spectacular supernatural revenge fantasy by Toshiharu Ikeda (Evil Dead Trap). 

A woman, framed for the murder of her fisherman husband, seeks vengeance on the corrupt businessmen who had a hand in his death. 

This has long been officially unavailable in the west (when I first saw it, subtitles didn’t even exist yet) but has a strong cult following among those lucky enough to have experienced it. Now restored and made available thanks to the efforts of @thirdwindowfilms the esteem it has is sure to rise.

This will feature an introduction by Asian horror cinema expert Amber T AKA @hornbloodfire. Amber is a staff writer at @fangoria and regular contributor to blu ray releases by the likes of @arrowvideo, @88_films and @secondsightfilmsofficial. She has written the liner notes for the upcoming @_error_4444 blu ray of Mermaid Legend.
