Back by popular demand and extended in length!
We are thrilled to be hosting another three week pottery course with Jeannie from Crackle Pots.

Leeds artist Jeannie has a wealth of experience in teaching pottery will help get you started on your first steps into making ceramics. This course is suitable for complete beginners or those with some experience who want to use this valuable workshop time to develop their skills further.

This November the workshops will be focussing on hand-building and sculpting, looking at Picasso's ceramic work as inspiration. Our sessions have been extended to 2.5 hours a week to give learners more time to enjoy the process of making.

What to Expect
During this three week course Jeannie will guide you through the processes and tools needed to get great results.

Hand building and sculpture
Using ancient techniques to build with clay, Jeannie will teach you to coil, pinch or sculpt clay to create a pot, bowl or small sculpture of your choice.

Decoration and Firing
You will be able to get truly creative and decorate each piece with coloured slip in a design of your choice. Your pieces will be taken away to be fired in a kiln. Once fired, your work will have a clear glaze applied and it will be fired again at a higher temperature to a gloss finish making them food safe and non porous (however, please be aware that ceramics of this nature are not suitable for microwave use) Your pots will then be ready to collect from NorthLight at your convenience.

Materials
All materials and firing of your pieces are included at no extra cost.
