In commemoration of Stephen Lawrence Memorial Day, the School of Law at the University of Leeds and Mr Dwayne Hutchinson of AccomplishBCEL® are co-hosting with Leeds Libraries a creative zine-making workshop.
Leeds University will be bringing together members of the community in Leeds and their law students, who this year have been making zines (DIY, informal, and informative magazines) on policing and the state of racial injustice in the UK. On this day, the subject of our conversations and zines will be Stephen Lawrence and his legacy, and his family's ongoing fight for justice.
Mr Dwayne Hutchinson will join us in speaking on these topics before we begin our zine-making together. Mr Hutchinson is a Personal & Community Development Specialist, working with people of all ethnicities. He continues to raise awareness about what is happening in the Black community within the UK. This includes addressing the ongoing challenges and barriers for Black Boys, Black Young Men and Black Men, in order to find lasting solutions that provide positive outcomes.
There will also be time for questions and discussion, and to find out more information about Leeds Zine Library. Light refreshments will be provided.
All welcome. Tickets available here and also via Tickets below.
