In this day class you will learn how to create a design from a photograph (of a landscape, or portrait) and bring it to life using fabric and thread. Hayley will guide you through the basics of tracing a design, and transferring this onto to fabric ready to stitch using a variety of threads with some raw edge applique to add colour and texture.

You will also learn some simple hand embroidery stitches that create your embroidered picture including stem stitch, French knots and satin stitch.

All materials and equipment are included in the ticket price and the workshop is suitable for people with some embroidery experience who would like to start creating their own designs.

You will need to bring a printed photograph to the workshop to create your design.

There will be a short break for lunch. Please bring something or money for the Café / sandwich shop.
