Hard Shoulder Motorway City is an exhibition of photography conceived and created by Lane Shipsey and curated in collaboration with Bruce Davies of BasementArtsProject. The project has two strands; one documents the urban landscapes of South Leeds and the other portrays people and everyday life in the area.

This exhibition explores the impact of the once ‘futuristic’ planning policies of the 1970’s, how they are experienced by the community of those who live and work in the area, and how those policies have been altered over the years.
