On this one day workshop you will learn how to use the tools, materials and techniques to get started in bookbinding.
You’ll make books from scratch to take away with you using methods such as pamphlet stitch, concertina books and Japanese stab binding, and you will gain some knowledge to keep making books at home.
Bookbinding is great for creating notebooks, sketchbooks, albums or books which are art objects in themselves.
No prior experience of bookbinding is required for this workshop. You’ll learn the basics and will gain an understanding of different techniques in bookbinding. The workshop would be great for anyone with a creative practice that can be enhanced by bookbinding skills, but this is guaranteed to be a fun day for anyone!

Access
Our aim is to bring printmaking to as many people as possible. By their nature, some printmaking processes involve an amount of physical effort. Leeds Print Workshop is based in a basement studio at Patrick Studios, a bespoke venue for artists operated by East Street Arts. It is wheelchair accessible, with a lift, larger than standard doors and accessible toilet facilities. We recognise that everybody’s accessibility needs may differ, therefore please email us at hello@leedsprintworkshop.org to discuss any concerns you may have before booking. There is one blue badge car parking space to the side of the building on Rider Street, subject to availability.
