5Rhythms® movement class with live music, followed by a live gig.
A chance to meet old friends and new. Come and dance, share food together, and enjoy a great performance.
This will be a day in 3 parts - come to the whole day, or drop in at the time that suits you. Admission is pay-what-you-can (so, literally, if you’re skint you can come for nothing; if money’s not a problem for you right now, then please be generous).
Part 1 - a 5Rhythms class with Ben Deutsch, live music by Jake Madhatter (10:30am)
How do you find freedom in movement?
Is it by gently expanding beyond the boundaries that you’ve grown used to?
By finding movement to express the things that words cannot express?
By freeing yourself from your ideas of what freedom means?
By following the part of yourself that is already free?
By releasing the effort of inhabiting the past or future, and allowing yourself to rest in the present moment?
Maybe for you it’s something completely different, or perhaps the idea of “freedom in movement” feels completely alien right now. However it is, we’ll use our dancing practice to explore possibilities of freedom, to see if we can create a little more space for ourselves and for each other.
Part 2 - community lunch (12:30pm)
A chance to get to know our fellow dancers, while sharing a meal - please bring food to share.
Part 3 - Live performance with Jake Madhatter and guests (1:30pm)
In the afternoon, ritual drummer and folk musician Jake Madhatter will be joined by some very special guests to share their latest music with us (dancing is, of course, very welcome).
Book online via Tickets below, or pay cash on arrival.
To make this event accessible to as many people as possible, admission is on a pay-what-you-can basis.
