“impossible not to fall in love with her voice…a magnificent example of strength and talent” Jazz in Europe
This globally acclaimed collaboration between multi-award-winning vocalist/lyricist, Georgia Mancio (Parliamentary Jazz Awards, Ian Shaw, BBC Proms), and double-Grammy-winning jazz pianist/composer, Alan Broadbent (Natalie Cole, Charlie Haden, Pat Metheny), celebrated the release of their third co-written album, A Story Left Untold with the expert support of bassist Andry Cleyndert and drummer Dave Ohm .
Over the last 11 years, their performances have been lauded across Europe and the US for their quiet virtuosity: Alan’s dazzling pianism and improvisatory breadth, the perfect counterpart to Georgia’s exceptional story-telling and emotional depth.
Described as “one of the most formidable songwriting partnerships of the 21st century” (Jazz Views), their catalogue of 40+ songs has drawn comparisons to Rodgers and Hart, Cole Porter, Joni Mitchell and Stephen Sondheim.
Through journeys and resting places, childhood and old age, community and solitude: Broadbent and Mancio’s music remind us of both the fragility and resilience of the human spirit, at once profound and joyous, intimate and epic.
Support (7.30-8pm) is from Simeon Walker (piano) and Steve Hanley (drums)
