Three bands from the final year of the Jazz Course at the Leeds Conservatoire 2025 have a chance to play their final recital pieces in front of our live JazzLeeds audience in the first of two special concerts.
Each band plays one set, with an interval between bands. We love to support the young students from Leeds Conservatoire each year. Come and see these stars of the future!
Free House trio
The Free House trio is a fresh, vibrant and energetic group that strives to push the sonic boundaries of a chordless trio. The trio draws inspiration from jazz genres like bebop, hard bop, contemporary European and spiritual jazz. This eclectic combination of influences fused with the unique use of the baritone saxophone creates a modern, cutting-edge sound. Free House trio is made up of Conrad Clenton - baritone sax, Sean Blake - double bass and Billy Goulding - drums
Jascha Bingham Trio
The Jascha Bingham Trio aims to reconceptualise and explore jazz standards and originals through a creative and emotional improvisational process. Within performances, the trio continuously focuses on exploring new improvisational pathways and emphasising emotional expression through nuance, sensitivity and musical communication. Jascha Bingham leads the trio on piano with Sean Blake on double bass and Adam Scott on drums, taking large inspiration from the format of the Keith Jarrett trio as well as incorporating stylistic elements from Brad Mehldau and Bill Evans.
Jamie Gallacher Quintet
The Jamie Gallacher Quartet stays true to the vintage jazz sound whilst retaining a modern edge courtesy of original arrangements and compositions. The inspiration from One for All and players such as Pete Christlieb creates an exhilarating performance. This up and coming quartet consists of Jamie Gallacher - Tenor Sax, Stefan Wardale - Piano, Fynn Clements - Bass and Angus Haygarth - Drums.
