Let’s file that tax return!

This is a co-working session, with a specific focus on helping you to take time to work through your self-assessment tax return. There’s the option to join the session online, or in-person.

We know that many people put off doing their self-assessment as long as possible up to (and over!) the 31st Jan deadline.

This session will help each of us to hold each other to account, kindly and with compassion, and to support each other to make progress with the submission.

The donation cafe will be open to help yourself to hot drinks, and there will be plugs available.

Please note, that no one present will be a certified financial advisor or accountant, and no one will be liable for any financial decisions made. It is more of a skill-share session where we can figure it out together, and not expert advice.

If you are looking for expert help, we suggest contacting HMRC direct, or finding an accountant to support you.

What to bring

You may like to get your bundle of receipts, details of banks accounts, records of income and outgoings, and a laptop ready.

We won’t be serving food, so you’re welcome to bring your own food and snacks, and use the microwave etc.

It’s winter and it’s a large space, so bring your warm jumper, and maybe an extra layer too.

Who is this event for?

This is for those who are self-employed and have to submit their own tax return.

We use GoCardless to process payments on this website. Rather than using a credit or debit card, GoCardless will ask you to authorise payment from your bank account. This is a one off payment, and we will not store your bank account details. This approach involves much lower transaction fees, so more of the money is able to support community and artistic development.

    Accessibility

There are two gender neutral toilets on the ground floor, one is accessible. We have baby changing facilities in the accessible toilet. You are welcome to breastfeed your baby here.

Open Source Arts is accessed via a slightly uneven floor outside. The main door is about a metre in width and 5 metres in height. The venue is split over two floors, with access to the upstairs (housing the cafe and dance studio spaces) via a staircase of 14 stairs with hand banisters on both sides, which unfortunately is not currently wheelchair accessible.

We have very limited parking on site – which is reserved for those who must drive for access.
