
Leeds Combined Arts present Dangerous Women, Women in the Victorian Circus. A lively presentation by Steve Ward exploring the pleasures and pains of Victorian circus women.
Steve has a PhD in Social History from the University of Hull for his research and writing on aspects of the social and cultural history of the circus. To date he has written eight books on the subject as well as many articles and papers. In addition, he has also produced two historical novels and a children's novella. He is also an experienced public speaker on various aspects of the history of the circus. Quite recently he gave a talk at the International Circus Conference in Budapest, Hungary.
