During this fun and explorative workshop, you’ll learn how to hand stamp designs and patterns using Aidan's brilliant collected of pre-carved wooden and lino blocks. You’ll be experimenting with colour and pattern to create your design and then print this onto your clothing to takeaway and wear with pride! A great introduction to block printing.
Please bring a piece of clothing with you which you’d like to print on.
Please note - this workshop is suitable for children and adults aged 8+. Any under 18s must be accompanied, and adult supervision will be needed at all times.
We aim for children and their carer givers to enjoy this workshop together, so please book tickets for each person your group. Every attendee must have a ticket for the session due to limited space within the workshop venue.
Artist Bio:
Aidan is a textile printer and maker based in West Yorkshire with over 5 years of experience leading creative workshops and sharing her love for block printing.
Aidan uses her curiosity of nature to inform her own design work and creative practise. Inspired by the natural world, Aidan's designs combine her love of nature, plant folklore and stories with traditional printing and dyeing techniques to create modern and timeless fabrics.
All pieces are created slowly, by hand - from carving the block, printing fabric and sewing using 100% linen or hemp and water based inks. Being conscious in her choices of fabrics and process, celebrating a slower and kinder way of making, Aidan's pieces bring nature and traditional craft into our homes.
