Leeds Art Gallery is an attraction in the heart of Leeds City Centre. The gallery collection comprises a wide range of modern and contemporary art, alongside an extensive programme of events.
The lower galleries include work from the early years of the collection, temporary exhibitions and sculpture. Recent exhibitions have included Sonia Boyce: Feeling Her Way, Things Left Unsaid: Percy Wyndham Lewis, Iris Barry, Helen Saunders & the story of Praxitella and Yorkshire Sculpture International. The upper galleries contain contemporary works from the collection along with a number of changing displays.
Meanwhile Artspace provides a family friendly, relaxed, creative space with art materials and activities that explore themes inspired by the collections. Draw, build, interact and play or head over during school holidays to meet the artist-in-residence.
Also be sure to take time out in the stunning surroundings of the Victorian Tiled Hall café, and visit the shop which stocks local giftware, children's art books, Scandinavian inspired homewares and many other art related products!
Leeds Art Gallery is now a Give What You Can gallery. We invite visitors to donate to support the gallery if they are able. Donations can be made via our Tap to Give donations points on arrival or during your visit with contactless, Chip and Pin, cash and coins.
