Led by acclaimed violinist Arun Ramamurthy, the trio is renowned for blending the rich traditions of South Indian Carnatic music with the creative freedom of jazz, creating a sound that is both rooted in heritage and boldly contemporary.

Arun Ramamurthy Trio (ART) brings a fresh approach to age-old South Indian Carnatic music. Boundaries are blurred in this organic and seamless integration of styles as the group expands on traditional forms in explosive, improvisational flights of fancy.

The trio freely explores the kindred spirit of Raga music and Jazz, resulting in a deeply invigorating and spiritual listening experience. ART's collaborative sound is driven by the propulsive rhythm section of drummer Sameer Gupta and electric bassist Damon Banks.

The ensemble has performed at internationally renowned venues including Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, and Bimhuis in Amsterdam.

Drawing on their diverse musical backgrounds and experiences, the trio will explore the fundamental principles of raga music and share insights into how they create original work that bridges Indian classical and jazz traditions.
