Harry Kingman will show images from an expedition cruise he took to Antarctica, South Georgia and Falkland Islands in Feb/March 2023.
"The plan was to sail from Ushuaia to the Falkland Islands then to South Georgia, from there we were to sail to the Antarctic Peninsula, via Elephant Island and the South Shetland Islands, before arriving back at Ushuaia. But this was an expedition cruise and plans change with the weather and ice conditions, this was no exception and because there was a massive weather system around the Falklands the itinerary was reversed."
Harry Kingman is an enthusiastic traveller; his journeys with his camera have taken him all over the world – from the heat of the Indian sub-continent to the frozen wastes of the Antarctic: "I love to travel, to see the scenery, the architecture, the wildlife, and the people but, also, I like to learn about the history and the culture."
This talk is hosted by Leeds Photographic Society, the world's oldest organised photographic society founded in 1852. The society is a friendly group of enthusiasts, from beginners to professional photographers and welcomes new members of all skill levels. See our website for more information.
