Antonín Dvořák Silent Woods
Grażyna Bacewicz Kaprys Polski
Bohuslav Martinů Cello Sonata No 1

This concert is performed by the wonderful British cellist, Vashti Hunter, and renowned British pianist, Alasdair Beatson. Together they explore the most Slavic part of Europe with intriguing and mesmerising compositions by Leoš Janáček, an epic sonata by Bohuslav Martinů, and the glorious Cello Sonata by Polish composer, Frédéric Chopin.

A highlight of this programme is the inclusion of a charming, yet rarely performed, short composition for solo cello by the iconic female Polish composer, Grażyna Bacewicz.
