SAM and MATT met when they came to Leeds College of Music to study on the Jazz Course in 2007. They became firm friends during this time, living together and sharing many memorable musical experiences. Since then they have both gone on to have successful performing careers of their own, touring internationally and releasing multiple albums.

HEART in particular is an important place for both of them, having been regulars at the venue since it’s opening, both together and with their individual projects.

Tonight’s duo concert is a return to their roots, focusing on jazz standard repertoire, with music from the Great American Songbook as well as from jazz composers like Benny Golson and music from the famous Bossa Nova album Getz/Gilberto.
