In 2021, MAKK, Yorkshire based singer-songwriter David McEvoy, met producer and co-writer Jacob Clarke at Evoke Studio in Leeds. Over the last two years, the duo has cultivated a distinctive Indie Dream Folk sound, characterised by lo-fi and experimental production, ethereal and dreamy atmospheres, and Makk’s moody vocals paired with introspective lyrics. Their ambient and mellow sound, with a cinematic feel, draws influences from artists such as Bon Iver, The Tallest Man on Earth, Billie Martin, Wyldest, Flyte, and This is The Kit.
Transitioning from a solo performer to a full band setup, Makk now captures the full atmosphere and nuances of his new music. The band features drummer Harry Stobart, bassist David Bullock, and lead guitarist Jacob Clarke.
Their latest EP, Tabula Rasa was released in August, the first single ‘Breathe’ from which has been well-received by both fans and critics alike.

Support – HerOrangeCoat, an upcoming indie folk artist from West Yorkshire. Her music is a beguiling mixture of her life experience, woven into a rich tapestry of sound. Armed with her ukulele, she crafts songs that turn melancholy into a musical journey that demands to be heard.
The much anticipated EP Ballads for this Age will be released in November. The first track Ballad 1 (sorry), has received particular acclaim.
