A night of traditional music from the British Isles and beyond with Tóchar and La'l Tethera.
Tóchar are a Glasgow-based fiddle and guitar duo offering thoughtful interpretations of traditional and contemporary Celtic material. Fran Barrett and Kai Dudley, who met on London’s vibrant session scene, stage performances marked by an intimate musical dialogue - with guitar and fiddle in lively conversation as equals. With a repertoire that moves freely from traditional tunes and songs to original compositions, Tóchar bring warmth, playful rapport, and a deep respect for the tradition to the stage.
La'l Tethera: Ada Wood and Georgie Rix are two thirds of La'l Tethera. Central to the collaboration between Ada and Georgie is a desire to break the mould of conventional roles in both music and society. Displaying an attentive understanding of space and melodic communication within their unique blend of two voices, fiddle and viola, Ada and Georgie create refined and heartfelt arrangements. Masterfully applying a grass-roots backgrounds in folk traditions and techniques to contemporary and globally inspired repertoire, they carry you through tear-jerking lows to foot stomping highs.
