The Practical Team carries out a variety of conservation management and habitat improvement works. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to get stuck in! Our projects run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays each week.
We ask volunteers to meet us at Hollybush at 9.15am if travelling with us to the work site, or at 10am at the site, if you're going directly there. It is important that you confirm which day you would like to attend and to book a seat on the minibus.
We work at a range of sites (in Leeds and across West Yorkshire), including schools, nature reserves, urban parks, and the countryside. We carry-out projects such as pond and wildlife area construction/maintenance; invasive species management; drystone walling; footpath and bridge building; tree planting. No experience is necessary, and we provide all tools, materials, equipment, first aid etc - everything apart from food and drink, so you'd need to bring lunch and water/soft drink with you.

Access
We have a van which departs promptly at 9:30 and volunteers are to reserve a seat prior to arriving to avoid disappointment. We cover the entire area of West Yorkshire so please get in touch with Dani danielle.aspinall@tcv.org.uk to find out where we will be on the day you would like to attend.
Due to the nature of our work, we cannot guarantee there will be plumbed facilities nearby, therefore the toilets will be in the wild.
