Join us in the Gallery on Saturday 29th June to celebrate our current exhibition Tangled Up on its final day.

From 12pm, artist Henry Morris will be running a Drop In Felting Demonstration. Henry has been creating original felt art by hand for over 25 years. His artwork incorporates ancient and modern felting techniques, alongside contemporary design. Using environmentally friendly natural raw wool fibers, soap water and rolling mats, Henry creates truly unique, eye-catching designs.

Between 12pm & 4pm, we invite you to visit the Gallery to see the new additions to Vanessa Marr's Domestic Dusters collection. Swap stories and tell us about the inspo behind your duster. If you'd like to embroider your own duster, there's still time to get involved! CLICK HERE for more info.

From 6pm, we invite you to meet the artists who brought Tangled Up to life with their incredibly textile work. Join us in the Sunny Bank Mills Gallery to hear from four of the artists featured in the exhibition. This is a rare opportunity to hear about an artists’ practice and to learn more about how ideas turn into works of art.

This event will feature:

Stephanie Jefferies & Sarah Marsh

Andi Walker

Sophie Jones

Hosted by our Arts Director, Anna Turzynski, there will be opportunities to ask questions and discover why each of the artists use textiles as a medium in their work. We will discuss the politics and personal storytelling that inform their practices and hear about their upcoming projects. The bar will be open selling alcoholic and soft drinks too. We hope you can join us!

Three 20 minute talks from each artist, talking us through their work in the exhibition and the reasons they use textiles as a medium.

Following the 20 minute talks, our Arts Director Anna will lead a panel discussion and Q&A.

Capacity x 50 people.

£10 per ticket for Meet the Artists. Please only book a ticket if you plan to attend the 6pm event. No prebooking is required if you are attending the Gallery before 4pm.

FREE ENTRY to the Gallery between 10am & 4pm. Our Tea Room and Shop will also be open as usual during these times.
