An afternoon of music in the beautiful surroundings of Hollybush Conservation Centre in Leeds (in their barn), raising money for Sunshine & Smiles - a unique Leeds charity which does wonderful work supporting people with Down syndrome and their families.
Entry is Pay What You Feel and you can either buy a ticket in advance or make a donation on the day.
The Hollybush cafe will be open from 12pm (until 3.00/3.30pm) with performances from 1pm (finishing by 4pm) by the following singer-songwriters, not necessarily in order of appearance:
ROSEY HILL
Rosey Hill is a Leeds vocalist and songwriter. Her songs are emotionally delivered historical nightmares about witchcraft, Boudicca's revolt, middle-aged Maid Marian, the end of the world, monsters and devilry. She is the lead singer of feminist folk metal band Nithered.
SAMSON
Armed with an acoustic guitar and a voice full of gravel and ghosts, Samson delivers raw, melodic storytelling that cuts through to the bone. Inspired by the dark poetry of Leonard Cohen and the gritty realism of Bukowski’s broken typewriter, his songs dwell in the tension between beauty and ruin.
NICKY BRAY'S MUSICAL MENAGERIE

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT SUNSHINE & SMILES:
Set up in 2011 by a group of parents who had a baby with Down syndrome, the charity has grown and developed since then to provide a wide range of activities and support to over 190 families across the city and beyond.
Activities on offer are: football, swimming, music, yoga, cricket, baby & toddler group, Speech & Language therapy, Early Development groups and much more. The charity also offers individual family support and liaises with schools and health professionals to raise awareness and improve opportunities and outcomes for people with Down syndrome.
They also run 2 cafes; 21 Co. in Headingley and Cafe 21 @ TCV Hollybush in Kirkstall, each of the venues employs people with Down syndrome as part of the team.
All of the charity's services and support are free to the families who attend, which is why fundraising is vital to them.
