Explore screen printing using paper stencils on this one-day workshop. A fun and experimental approach to screen print for any experience level.
Get to grips with our fantastic screen printing facilities and learn the basics of screen printing onto paper.
You will use paper stencil methods to print multi-layered prints, experimenting with transparent inks to produce interesting layers and outcomes. Handcut stencils allow you to work quickly and you’ll make a handful of layers throughout the day.
What experience do I need?
This course is suitable for absolute beginners, since we will cover the basics of how to screen print well. However, people who already have screen print in their practice but would enjoy a new approach will also benefit. Stencil screen print can be a great way to bring experimentation and freedom to your practice.

Access
Our aim is to bring printmaking to as many people as possible. By their nature, some printmaking processes involve an amount of physical effort. Leeds Print Workshop is based in a basement studio at Patrick Studios, a bespoke venue for artists operated by East Street Arts. It is wheelchair accessible, with a lift, larger than standard doors and accessible toilet facilities. We recognise that everybody’s accessibility needs may differ, therefore please email us at hello@leedsprintworkshop.org to discuss any concerns you may have before booking. There is one blue badge car parking space to the side of the building on Rider Street, subject to availability.
Please note: we regret that, for safety reasons, only those over the age of 16 will be permitted to undertake the course.
