The Swan Song Project is a Leeds based charity that helps terminally Ill and bereaved people to write and record original songs.
Since 2017 the charity has helped over 150 families to write their Swan Songs. They now have a team of songwriters and offer their unique service across the country. They believe in Celebrating Lives, Making Memories and Leaving Legacies.
This event will be a chance for people to share their songs publicly and meet others who have also written Swan Songs. Each song with be introduced by it's write (or a family member if the writer has since passed away), we will then listen to it together. We will mostly be listening to the recorded versions of the songs but may have some live performances too.
The event is free to attend but tickets must be reserved in advance.
It will in The Music Library at Leeds Central Library.
We will start the songshare at 1pm and run this until 3pm with a break for refreshments.
This event will likely be quite emotional and talk openly about death and bereavement.
