Perdita - The Last Human
Leeds LitFest
Literature
Spoken Word

Through a sequence of poems, Perdita explores questions about subjects including body augmentation, gender identity, work, war and truth as she learns to live amongst her non-human peers. A thought provoking and involving story.

This sequence of poems-for-performance is written by Jane Kite and performed by Jane Kite and John Hepworth.

Meet the people:

Jane Kite is an Otley Poet who runs various poetry groups and has been a publisher and event organiser. She has a collection, Distaff and three themed pamphlets which have led to performances at venues including Ilkley Literature Festival fringe, Huddersfield Literature Festival and at Chapel FM.

John Hepworth’s first poetry prize was back when the place we celebrate as Hyde Park Book Club was a petrol station dispensing its wares at 33p a gallon. While John’s achievements didn’t keep pace with fuel prices he’s nevertheless regarded as pretty adequate both as writer and performer.
