Olivia Cuttill and her all star quintet play music from their new album ‘The Whole Damn Plan,’ as well as mixture of their favourite standards – Ella, Louis, Duke and more at Seven Arts on 3 November.

The sounds of jazz, blues, and all things groove fuses these stories together, and has something for any listener. Olivia Cuttill is a jazz trumpet player, composer and lyricist. Raised in East London and until recently based in Leeds, Olivia has always been obsessed with music. Being the third generation of musician in her family, jazz, funk and soul are all deeply rooted in Olivia’s sound.

On her latest album, The Whole Damn Plan, a collection of thoughts, feelings and anecdotes come together to create memorable and impactful music, her new compositions follow on with this story telling approach. Olivia’s style of composition and improvisation are one and the same, gleaming with conviction, captivation and character. The sounds of Joni Mitchell, Ray Charles and Lee Morgan all heavily influence Olivia’s music, creating a sound resonates.

Olivia plays the whole history of jazz trumpet, she’s superb! We loved the band when they played for us at the Leeds Jazz Festival in May, so it will be good to see them at Seven Arts

Playing alongside her brilliant bandmates Issey Chivers – Vocals, Tom Harris – Piano, Josh Vadiveloo – Bass, Miles Pillinger – Drums.
