In celebration of Heritage Open Days 2026, we invite you to join us for this special event. Meet the Writers of Our City, Our Lives, Our Stories is a community reading and discussion event featuring writers from the anthology Our City, Our Lives, Our Stories. The evening will open with a short performance from Rhythm Dance Nation About Us, a dynamic arts company rooted in rhythm, movement and African diasporic performance practices that create inclusive, high-energy experiences for diverse audiences. Their work often blends dance, rhythm and storytelling, making them a powerful fit for an event that places everyday life and lived experience at its heart.

Following the performance, there will be live readings by the writers and a Q&A session with the audience, creating a welcoming space for people to hear directly from the voices behind the work and to share their own reflections. The event will take place at the Reginald Centre Library between 4.30pm and 6.30 pm, offering a safe, accessible venue for residents, families, and library users to engage with storytelling rooted in Leeds.
