SaxShades was formed in 2001 by Debbie Scherer and Sarah Jobson and has existed in its current line-up since 2016. The quartet plays a wide range of music from Baroque to rock and everything in between.

They are committed to supporting new music and have made a significant contribution to the saxophone quartet repertoire through commissions and premieres, including works by British and American composers featured on their CD Beginnings.

Members also perform with regional ensembles and have worked as woodwind teachers across Yorkshire for many years.
