LIAAF Presents... Lagos Fringe Shorts
Film

A dynamic and eclectic mix of short stories by new Nigerian filmmakers, as programmed by the long standing Lagos Fringe Festival.

The films selected:

- Mother by Olamide Adio and Victor Daniel

Set against the slow pulse of Ibadan, Mother is a quiet short film about familial duty, emotional repression, and the extremities of grief.

- Irin Ajo / The Journey by Myde Glover

Manuel sets out with his wife, Trish, and their young daughter, Chi, on a long-overdue trip to meet Trish’s distant family. As they near their destination, Trish grows increasingly withdrawn, hinting at unresolved tension.

- Oga Mike by Chukwu Martin

Oga Mike, a mascot performer journeys through the day to provide for his family.

- In Her Shoes by Ella Chikezie

Twelve-year-old Halima lives in a world that misunderstands her. With undiagnosed autism, she is seen as a burden by her mother - Amina, whose own trauma has left her hardened.

- Pedophile by Mohammad Sadegh Ghahremani

A withdrawn young man lives under the shadow of a brutal past. Once a victim of abuse, he now exists as the reluctant apprentice of the very man who destroyed his childhood, assisting him in sustaining a cycle of predation he despises yet cannot escape.

The programme is a mix of some heavy and more gentle themes. We will make space for some reflection time in the event.
