Antonia Stowe and Clifford Stead , born and living in Leeds, launched the Leeds Owl Trail TM in 2009 as a thank you to the city—creating a picture map that allows residents and visitors to explore Leeds through the eyes of the owls that originated from the Leeds Coat of Arms.
This exhibition captures how the city has changed over the past 17 years and presents a physical map that reveals over nearly two decades how the landscape and development of Leeds has evolved to the City it is today.
We share our message that however long you are in Leeds, the owls are a special part of Leeds’s identity—so look after them and they will watch over you.
Many people of all ages have fun Owl Hunting and you can pick up a map in Leeds Central Library or the Leeds Art Gallery.
The Leeds Owl Trail remains entirely voluntary, working with partners and sponsors to support the ongoing development of Leeds.
Thanks to your help, Owls have been found all over the city—there are now more than 40 locations listed on the Owl Trail!
