Please visit us to explore our latest Guest Exhibition. We are very pleased to host Kim Harley-Griffiths and her wonderful, evocative work.
Kim is an outstanding ceramicist who grew up in North Wales and only recently discovered the tactile, transformative qualities of clay, a medium truly in tune with her vision. Her journey as an artist began as a children's book illustrator, constantly developing her drawing and painting skills.
She enjoys exploring the delicate line between the human, animal and mythical metamorphosis and how animals and birds move with power and grace. Kim has always believed that the essence of capturing nature is not through rigid precision; it must be felt, embraced and translated through spontaneous, gestural mark making.
Kim draws inspiration from the rich tapestry of Welsh mythology, rituals and their haunting narratives. Working with clay allows her to bring her creatures and mythical figures to life where touch and form merge to tell stories of folklore, nature, and transformation.
The exhibition concludes on Monday, 31st August.
