Interspersed with the Mowgli tale is the intriguing story of a young Rudyard Kipling, who is sent from his home in Bombay to a British boarding school, where he encounters his own “jungle”. The story unfolds using his own experience of feeling lost in unfamiliar surroundings, and the people he meets – good and bad – inspire many of his famous animal characters.
