
Join Jaivant Patel, the charismatic Artistic Director of multi-award winning Jaivant Patel Company in conversation with Hannah Robertshaw (Yorkshire Dance). Jaivant will share his artistic vision, choreographic journey, creative influences and the stories behind his current and previous work.
Jaivant Patel is an unapologetic Gujarati queer dancemaker leading Jaivant Patel Company based in Wolverhampton. The company create contemporary performances influenced by the myriad of South Asian Dance forms. A trailblazer in both the UK and international dance scene, Jaivant is one of the leading figures amplifying LGBTQ+ South Asian voices and exploring the intersections of race, gender, sexuality, faith, and spirituality.
This is a Pay What You Can event as part of Collective Encounters, a two-day festival of dance for LGBTQ+ folx and their allies.

At Yorkshire Dance, we’re committed to making our work affordable for everyone so all our events are Pay What You Can. When booking you can either click on the full price of £6.00 or you can enter your own amount. If you cannot afford to pay anything you are very welcome to attend simply enter £0 as you checkout.
Once you have booked your ticket your name is added to our register. Just head to the welcome desk at Yorkshire Dance at least 10 minutes before your event to sign in.
