Strap on your skates and take to the 400sqm covered ice rink, where daily sessions, beginner-friendly one-on-one lessons, and special Penguin Clubs ensure that both novice and seasoned skaters can join in the fun.
After gliding across the ice, indulge in delicious treats from the festive market stalls, featuring everything from traditional Bavarian sausages and indulgent waffles to warming hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows. Don’t miss the charming 4-metre-high illuminated Ski Bear outside the alpine-inspired Ski Bar, a perfect spot for capturing festive moments with friends and loved ones.
For those seeking thrills, the festive funfair boasts exhilarating rides, including the towering 30-metre-high Starflyer, the classic Golden Gallopers carousel, and the spectacularly illuminated Big Wheel, along with a variety of festive-themed attractions that cater to all ages.

A dedicated accessible skating session is held every Thursday from 10.30am to 11.15am offering a less busy, safe and fun environment to wheelchair users and other disabled persons.
All other public skating sessions are also fully accessible and can be booked online. Wheelchair users are able to access the rink in their own wheelchairs but should be accompanied on ice by a companion / responsible skater at all times for their own and everyone else’s safety.
Disabled Persons Toilets and Changing Places Toilets are available on site adjacent to the Civic Hall. This unit includes a tracking hoist (please contact the council’s events team for more information on hoist type if required as slings will not be provided), height adjustable changing bench, peninsular layout toilet and a height adjustable wash basin. This will be accessible by a RADAR lock (a key will be available on site if you do not have one).
Two disabled person’s toilets with a choice of right and left handed transfer are also available within the permanent toilet facilities of Millennium Square. Both are accessed by RADAR locks and via a ramped approach.
