The Reach Up Disco Wonderland collective brings a night of expansive disco and house to the Howard Assembly Room - led by two of the industry's most influential figures, Nick Halkes and Andy Smith.
Nick Halkes, co-founder of XL Recordings and the force behind the Positiva label, has a career defined by era-shaping signings like The Prodigy. He is joined by former Portishead member Andy Smith - a DJ renowned for a deep crate-digging knowledge that spans from rare 1970s cuts to 1990s floor-fillers.
The line-up is bolstered by some of the finest local talent. Leeds duo Galaxians bring their energetic live set - built on a foundation of analogue synthesisers and heavy percussion - alongside Golden Gate, a Leeds-based project focused on disco and house. Rounding out the bill is Ian Ossia, representing the long-running city institution Downtown Disco.
In addition to the evening’s performances, an industry Q&A will be held in the downstairs Howard Assembly Room bar from 4pm to 6pm.
