Spend four Monday evenings discovering the possibilities of clay in this relaxed, hands-on pottery course with Leeds ceramicist and artist educator Poppy Davis, founder of CloD Studio.

Designed for complete beginners as well as those wishing to develop their existing skills, the course introduces a range of hand-building and surface-decoration techniques. Poppy will provide clear demonstrations and individual guidance throughout, while giving you plenty of room to experiment with shape, colour and texture.

Across the four weeks, you will create and decorate your own collection of ceramic pieces:

Week one: Make a drop-moulded bowl using clay slabs, then decorate it with paper-resist techniques and coloured slips.

Week two: Build a slab vase and add raised relief decoration to its surface.

Week three: Create a coil-built mug from scratch, including forming and attaching your own handle.

Week four: Glaze your finished pottery using white or transparent glaze, with a choice of coloured glaze washes.

By the end of the course, you will have made a bowl, vase and mug, each shaped and decorated by you.

All clay, slips, glazes, materials and firing are included in the course price, with no additional charges. Booking includes all four sessions.
