Join Foster4Leeds and Leeds Libraries for a fun Storytime and craft session with illustrator and graphic-novelist Salomey Doku. As part of Black History Month and co-created with local foster carers, the session will centre around her inspiring book You Can Do Anything, Tyrone!, written with award-winning comedian and actor Sir Lenny Henry. Follow Tyrone’s imaginative journey to the moon and bring the story to life through creative crafts and play.

A free family-friendly event recommended for children under 8 years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

While you’re there, you can also learn more about fostering in Leeds. With over 1,500 children in care, there is a growing need for people who can offer stability, care and encouragement. You’ll have the chance to chat with foster carers and the Foster4Leeds team, hear real experiences, and discover how fostering helps children feel supported, build confidence and thrive.
