Fatal Flora – Craft Your Own Killer Pot!
Workshop
Family friendly
Event organiser:
Thackray Museum of Medicine

We have partnered with our friends at Alnwick Gardens (home of their infamous Poison Garden) to create our very own Little Apothecary Shop of Horrors. Come visit our team who will guide you through the world of poisonous flowers and fauna – fancy creating a cure or your very own tainted bunch?

Once you’ve wised up about these potentially deadly botanicals, Firefly Pottery will help you craft your very own Thackray-inspired jar to store it in. These fun, take-home pots are inspired by real apothecary jars in our collection!

This event is free with a museum ticket, but pre-booking is encouraged.

Please note this event is only available to those with valid museum entry. When booking please ensure you have a valid annual pass for everyone attending, or choose ‘Museum Entry’ when booking to add a new one. This workshop will last approx. an hour and is recommended for those aged 3 and up.

    Accessibility

    Access to the museum

We want everyone to enjoy the museum. It is fully wheelchair and buggy accessible, entry is free for essential companions, and we welcome assistance dogs (and our team are more than happy to arrange a bowl of water for hard-working thirsty dogs – please just ask).

The museum offers quiet openings on the last Sunday of each month from 10am–11am when the lights will be up and the sounds down.  You can download a copy of our gallery map, which includes some sensory information and other details here.

You can find more accessibility information by visiting our guide hosted on
