Join us at the Michael Sadler Building, room number (LG.10), University of Leeds, with Urban Zulu's latest innovative styles and sustainable practices shaping the fashion industry's future. Fashion is a creative expression connecting the observer, the body, and the surroundings. Congolese-born South African designer Papy Kaluw and guest artists will explore the intersection between textiles, activism and movement to envision a fashion-forward world.
Curated by Khadijah Ibrahiim, this immersive performance exhibition will illustrate the beauty of ethical design and its potential to inspire social action. Papy Kaluw and his brand, Urban Zulu, are all about uniting people. From Cape Town to New York Fashion Week, Papy has positioned the brand as an ambassador for the urban and culture-conscious; through its garments and use of textile aesthetics, the brand, alongside guest artists and the Heritage Crew, will share profound stories. Join us as we pave the way for a more mindful and stylish tomorrow. Event support: The Cultural Institute University of Leeds, Heritage Crew and The Arts Council of England - Accessories by Ebony Milestone.
